I may sound like a broken record, and that is okay because if I am being one hundred percent honest here, I love this series thus so far. After having so much ‘cat and mouse’ chemistry in HALO to the angst and internal struggles that was VIPER, it was interesting to see Viper and Halo evolve to this sweet, learning to be a couple in the public eye within ANGEL.
So yeah, this one starts off right where we left off in HALO, literally, mid-kiss my comrades. Viper just confessed his true feelings and oh my lanta, in front of the world. Just the dramatic gesture I would expect from a character of Viper’s mannerism. What I loved most about the third installment was that even though they had hovering issues they needed to work out, there was zero drama angst to be had here (at least not like it had been previously), it worked out just beautifully. ANGEL was literally about Viper and Halo moving forward together.
Obviously there was some sexy time in the middle… don’t fret.
The first time you left my bed, I lost my damn mind because i wasn’t nearly done with you. And every minute I spend with you confirms that that reaction was the right one to have, because I’m never going to be done with you. You’re it for me. My sanctuary. My home. And I want to that for you. I want my bed t be our bed. My home to be yours.
But it was, truly just a declaration of their relationship hitting a pinnacle that aided in their future. It was Halo and Viper against everything else. I loved how they evolved with one another. It was sweet, cute, sexy and all things unicorn snot delicious. I still stand by that in some ways, these two had this passion right from the start, they gravitated towards one another and just couldn’t stop it. Could be rendered unhealthy especially considering their conflicts prior, but honestly, I just loved their passion. How they accepted one another. Not only that, but those internal struggles, they face them together – again, ANGEL was nothing but the goodness of evolution for this couple and I saw stars.
On top of the leads, I cannot say this enough – the supporting characters in Fallen Angel were perfection. Not only was there the ‘oh so finally’ moment between Trent and Viper, the band mates are positively hilarious and entertaining. I cannot wait to see what happens with Slade, I really feel like he is a closet gay. I mean it, the things that man says are downright hilarious and questionable. I think one of my favorite things about the group is how they supported Viper and Halo, it was empowering to see how they had one another. Not to mention Killian stole my heart.
Speaking of Killian because again, dang it with the cliffhanger ending! I already adored Killian, now I have to wait and see what happens next because wow, Levi and him, I can already see fireworks a brewing.
Overall, I cannot gush enough about Ella Frank’s writing style, when she is involved with Brooke Blaine too, I have nothing but butterflies in my stomach when starting a series by these ladies. Anyone who knows me know I absolutely adore MM Romance and when I can find a romance dynamic that has be melting off the chair, thinking about them hours after I have read the book – I know I have a good thing in my hands. I cannot wait to see what comes out of this series, here’s hoping it holds strong and delicious in my heart!
