We thought the games were over…but they’ve only just begun.

She was the puppet.
He pulled the strings.
Now the death toll is rising, what could this mean?
It was all a game.
Of feelings.
Of pain.
Death is just an illusion, or so they say.
She was just a pawn on a piece of his demented board. But there’s only one question left to settle the score…Can dead people really stay dead?

Alright, so I am finding myself more and more into the suspenseful romance world and I gotta say, I am loving it! After devouring Deception and Chaos, I could not pass up an opportunity to see what was next in store for this series especially considered the flipping cliffhanger man! It slayed me. Luckily, Blood and Chaos starts right where we left off…

Creed is definitely my everything. He is literally everything. I loved his character. What can I say, I am a sucker for the broody, mafia badassary. The alpha-brute is dripping from his presence and I loved every second of it. I think the best part that really makes me swoon more for him, not only his protective addiction towards Sophia, but this round we get more of the behind his reality. We see more of Creed, what goes on with the ticker, saying it was a tear worthy, cringe mania is an understatement. I loved the graphics of it as well, Soto made sure to show of the darker side of what dark romance is meant to be read.

And speaking of Sophia, I still adore her, though at times I felt the poor girl just cannot win for anything. I will admit that part of me loathes yet adores this poor thing. Honestly she is sometimes such a weak damsel type character, at least in my eyes, but it plays so well with the plot, I gotta admit I am loving her being that weaker person.

Even with this obsessive admiration, you must be thinking, why a four star Suey? I know, crazy right. But honestly there was a slight off setting, even with such a phenomenal plot. For starters even though I loved every moment between Creed and Sophia, I felt there was so much little between them verses this book and one. Which is depressing, considering how much I adore their interactions. Plus there was a small factor where things did drag on; I still stand that I was on the edge of my seat, but there were some lack luster scenes where I thought they were a little less than needed.

Overall, putting my slight pet peeves aside, the twists and turns of the plot, the character dynamics and shit, that cliffhanger, I am hooked as always. Something I am coming to realize about the writing style of this author is that there is nothing short of building, the depth of the characters and how enriching each aspect of the plays so well into each moment is just riveting. Never a dull moment that is for sure. Honestly, S.M. Soto blows my flipping mind, cannot wait for the next book!
