Tess was under the Devil’s watch while I suffered behind bars with my demons…

The ace in my pocket brings power, and the temptation to flip overwhelms me.

I’m playing chicken with the reaper, and it’s only feeding his thirst.

The smell of blood is a drug. It fuels me. Consumes me.

I am lost.

The Devil stole me, but I refuse to belong to someone else.

I’m a fighter.

I will do whatever it takes to get back to my family.

Treachery and betrayal surround us.

The only way out is to turn the greatest loss into the greatest victory.

Well shits comrades. That was… well that was mind blowing. That is all I have. You should totally read this series. Yep. That is my review – like it? I kid.

Obviously, I will go into a huge spill, because I can’t not go through my everything with UNLEASHED. I needed this book. My greedy little fingers couldn’t stop the tingling feels when the third installment hit my kindle. TRIGGER left me craving more, DEMONS busted down my emotional walls of any strength I had left and UNLEASHED – well I can honestly say that was well fucking played Drake.

Tess and Trigger stole my heart, ripped it to shreds and sewed the bleeding appendage back together. Their romance is not the most beautifully sweet, nor kind and definitely not forgiving of connections, but their chemistry, their tugs towards one another is melt off your seat scrumptious. Even when they argue you can still feel the sexual tension radiating off the pages. Seriously that moment they reconnected for the first time in UNLEASHED – hello is that my beaver melting or is this room a blaze? Whew. Let me just fan myself.

Not only is their physical chemistry off the charts beaver melting, they honestly have this connection that is just crippling and beyond heartfeltswoon. Again, not sweet, but perhaps passion-filled. Both Tess and Trigger have this huge backstory between them, struggling with their pasts, even their internal conflicts that really reflect as their outer esteem really play a huge role in their actual romantic dynamic. There is trust, mutual respect and just raw emotions, a connectivity that cannot be matched. Honestly just their conversations send’s my heart in a tizzy and my brain in drama overload it is just beguiling. Quite frankly I was oddly satisfied knowing their happy ending wouldn’t be rainbows and unicorn snot, but simply an ending that was justified to their complex world.

Want to know what else I absolutely love about the Devil’s Reach trilogy? Not only is the chemistry and romance between the main characters on fire, but the secondary characters leave nothing but trails of story building. I honestly do not think the romance development would have been as intense of a dynamic without the surrounding characters – they simply had such a pivotal additive to the entire storyline I cannot think of one moment when a character struck me as useless.

On top of all the web of swirling characters, it was the drama that kept me on the edge of my seat. Comrades, when I say it is so refreshing to find a trilogy involving such an ardent angle of drama that it never felt rushed nor overshadowed – truly it was breathtaking. The build of discovering how corrupt their world was, the politics, the betrayal – ugh. My heart is still pounding from finally unraveling the mole shenanigans. Then Jace. The scene with Allen and Jace, it was just, wow, the imagery of that moment was perfection yet disturbingly delicious. Then the present to Tess – ugh – my sadistically speckled heart is gliding.

Bottom line, if I haven’t convinced you yet to read this series then I am obviously not doing my job right as a blogger! Shame. But really, Drake slays me with her writing style. She writes such extraordinary characters, ones with the complexities that tug deep at your heart leaving the reader conflicted their true feelings towards not just the villain or main characters but the secondary characters as well. The dynamics, the character relationships, fuck the dialogue! Simply perfection. At least in my book hot wet dreams.

Devil’s Reach Trilogy was the first introduction to J.L. Drake and I can honestly admit she has created an obsessive reader in her corner – take me to the end of the world ma’am, I am all yours!
