Review: Soulfire | Nightwing Series by Juliette Cross

SOULFIREIT’S LIVE! Revised & updated with multiple new scenes.

In a world divided by prejudice and hatred, only love can bridge the chasm.

Tensions are rising in the Gladium Province. The boundary between humans and Morgons has begun to blur. While the human aristocracy strives to maintain distance between their daughters and the dragon-hybrid race, fate has other plans.

As the daughter of the corporate king, Jessen Cade is duty-bound to honor her arranged marriage to a man she detests. Feeling trapped by family duty and a loveless future, she longs for more, straying to the Morgon side of the city.

Lucius Nightwing is the eldest son of the powerful Morgon clan, and the greatest enemy of Jessen’s father. When a bar-room brawl thrusts Jessen into his arms, his dragon roars to the surface, craving to sate his carnal hunger in the brown-eyed beauty. The beast in Lucius recognizes her as his own, even if the man refuses to admit the truth.

I have recently become a huge fan more and more of Paranormal Romances, finding new authors to add to my ever growing TBR list. I blame Juliette Cross for this. She has hooked me with her Vampire Blood series and then Dominion series. Not to mention my bestie who keeps flashing all these goodies in front of my face, I just can’t stop – won’t stop!

Speaking of Juliette, I am so excited to have gotten to read the revised version of the Nightwing series, I have heard so many amazing things about this series, so it was great to see what all the fuse was finally about.

Firstly, I loved the characters. Lucius stole my heart, raging beating through my chest kind of ninja. He was this dangerous kind of delicious; intense, and powerful kind of essence that just dripped sex appeal. From the moment he enters the first encounter, Lucius had me melting off the seat, panting. Jessen on the other hand had me cheering on the sidelines like a cheerleader. Though at times, she did play her damsel in distress part well, obviously for convenience of plot of Lucius with his sexiness to come in and save the day. she still was anything less than fierce. She stood her ground, spoke her voice and damnit told it like it was – she made me a proud reader.

These personalities together – oh my lanta. Is it hot in here or is that my pants just dripping wet? Yeah, that’s definitely me. Even for the shortness of this novel, the passion between Jessen and Lucius is perfection. As a reader you could feel a pull between them immediately.

Bottom line, if you have not dived into the world of Juliette Cross you are truly missing out – if I saw you in person I would take a mallet to your throat if I were being honest. She has such a rich writing style, once you get started there is absolutely no way to stop, you get engulfed in her worlds, completely lost. absolutely in love with everything. Even with the Nightwing series being a little shorter than her other series that I have read previously, it nonetheless still comes with a lot of punches – the feels, the emotions, the fierce panty-dropping moments are nothing short of what I have come to expect from a Juliette novel.

If you are looking for a quick, paranormal romance with some yummy drama, this is definitely your match – so buckle up babes and start Soulfire! I am about to beam over to Windburn.
