Release Blitz + Review: Keeping Him | The Bishop Brothers Series by Kennedy Fox

Jackson Bishop is your typical playboy.

Unpredictable, charming, and overly confident.

Growing up in Texas, the ranch life is all he’s ever known. Horses and late night partying are his lifestyles, and all the local girls know it too. Riding lessons aren’t the only things taught at the stables, and he makes sure clients never leave unsatisfied. Everyone knows Jackson’s a wild card, but not everything is as it seems. He may be a womanizer on the surface, but he’s hiding deep feelings about the one who’s had his heart since he was a teen. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as roping her in and claiming her as his.

Kiera Young is well-known for her sassy nature and outgoing personality. Though she’s one of the best horse trainers in the area, she’s never been able to tame her best friend and the man she’s secretly loved since she was fifteen—Jackson Bishop. She’s waited years for him to confess his true feelings but as time goes on, she decides she’s done waiting. Kiera finally meets a man who promises to give her the world, and when he pops the question, she says yes—knowing they’re both ready to settle down and start a family.

Even if her heart beats for another man.

Jackson’s certain he’s lost Kiera for good and has no one to blame but himself. However, on the day of her wedding, he can’t bring himself to watch the woman he loves walk down the aisle to someone else. Kiera’s already having second thoughts and knows she can’t get married without his support. It’s not until she’s at the altar that she realizes she can’t let Jackson go and will do whatever it takes to keep him—even if it means running out on her own wedding.

Well shimmer my timbers comrades – do you know how long I have waited for this day? The day when Keeping Him was in my greedy hands? Yes, I needed Jackson. I yearned for Jackson. Next to Evans synopsis, it was Jackson out of the rest of the brothers I was most excited about. Surprisingly too, this is one of my least favorite romance tropes yet with the blend of Jackson’s personality and the drawn out build of Jackson and Kiera dynamic from all the other books – hell my beaver was drooling and my mind was in a tizzy!

Very conflicted…but seriously, best friends to lovers is not my favorite trope, and I do have a legit reason why, I don’t like it when the guy or the girl wake up one day and say – wow my bestie is hot I want in their pants; like they haven’t noticed them the entire time. It just irks me when it doesn’t pan out, or play out in a particular way and seems rather annoying and very unbelievable for me. But what I can admit is, like I said before, Kennedy Fox did an amazing build with Kiera and Jackson. There was always an attraction there between them, Kiera was more open about her feelings but you just knew there was something more there between the duo. So when I do dive into best friends to lovers, this is the build that I need, that I love seeing and Kennedy executed it masterfully.

Speaking of this delicious duo that I am head over heels in love for, Jackson and Kiera are some of my favorite characters in Kennedy’s world. Next to my Travis + Vi and Evan + Emily obsessions, Jackson and Kiera are now in my bucket of favorites. Firstly, Kiera, I have to hand it the the gal; she is just so easy to like, there wasn’t a single thing that I can think of that didn’t make her feel real to me. She had such a bright, sweet nature personality that I couldn’t help but connect with her.

Then there is Jackson. Oh my lanta was there Jackson. I love his personality. There I admit it now, I am obsessed with overly confident, asshole closet sweet heart guys – it is my weakness. Jackson has been one of my favorite fictional boyfriends since the beginning. Life of the party, charismatic, and just perfection.

I think honestly that is why Keira and Jackson had such an amazing romance that eventually developed. They just revolved around one another with their personalities and it really shined during the interactions. The way they talked, you could honestly feel their connection through the pages and honestly I didn’t know if I would die from swoonage or adorable-antic overkill.

Another thing that I absolutely enjoyed about Kiera and Jackson’s dynamic was that, as readers, we also got the most amazing glimpses of their history involvement. I liked knowing what happened in their past with their sweet moments that capitalized on their bond and attraction plus the extra build between the moment of Kiera is about to marry someone not Jackson. It was the prefect blend of suspense for that happy ending I have been dying for!

You slay me every time Kennedy… just – perfection. This gives me hope in Best Friends to Lovers tropes.

Overall, I loved it. I cannot say it enough how much I truly enjoyed Keeping Him. It was the perfect blend of exactly what I wanted to see with this couple. Finally getting a glimpse into Jackson’s sexy, sultry mind was enough to send me in a tizzy of excitement, mixing with all things sweetness from Kiera – perfection.
