Review: Piece of Work by Staci Hart

PIECEOFWORKMarble isn’t the only thing that’s hard at this museum.

His body is as chiseled as Adonis. His lips are as sculpted as David. And his ego is the size of the Guggenheim.

You know the type—wolfish smile and the gravity of a black hole. The kind of man who sucks all the air from the room the second he enters it. My cocky boss thinks this internship was wasted on me, and he doesn’t hesitate to let me know.

But he’s wrong, and I’m going to prove it to him. If I can stay away from his devil lips, that is. Lips that cut me down and kiss me in the same breath, leaving me certain he’s on a mission to ruin my life.

And maybe my heart.

These favorite tropes are killing me! Seriously I cannot get enough, I need to read them all! It is like pokemon…. gotta catch them all only here I just need to read them all. I mean it, any romantic comedy that is filled with the office authority type trope will be an instant buy hands down. There should be no question.

What I liked most about this is that the characters had a certain level of depth that left me screaming at the book relentlessly or gushing over the swoon worthy moments. I loved their personalities.

Court was definitely a personal favorite. I know – I am a sucker for fictional males but honestly, just living the dream comrades. The complexities of his personality was just intriguing to say the least. He had an interesting dynamic in the workforce plus his questionable, very twisted relationship with his father left me on many occasions sympathetic to our delicious man meat. I will also admit that even though he had this hard exterior, he was guarded and it really took a while for that growth to really take a hold of his character and jeez was it worth it. Rin on the other hand was a different breed of all things yummy. I loved her personality. At the beginning she was shy and really awkward, she was definitely just trying to find her place in the world and I liked that relatable scenario of her personality. I liked her progression throughout, she changed for herself, she grew as an adult for herself and stood her ground – she was just flipping adorable.

Oh my lanta and that chemistry. I am pretty sure I was drooling any time Court and Rin were in the middle of a steam session. When smut is written good, there should be no issues stating it is beaver drool worthy and this my friends was good. Hart can write some delicious smutty chemistry.

Aside from their chemistry I have to say that their authority, workforce dynamic really played a great drama flow. One that wasn’t rushed, that had a believable sense. Plus the supporting characters in their mix really aided on the drama factor. I loved it.

At this point I will read anything Staci Hart. Yep. I went there. I admitted it. Let the stalking and binge reading begin because I am coming for you Hart.

Seriously, Piece of Work was just an entertaining read. Between the witty, hilarious plot dynamics to the charismatic romance that left me pinning for more tension filled moments to the point I was drooling each page I turned – I was hooked, simple as that. Just a super fun novel, I could not recommend this one enough. I think anyone who doesn’t take the time to add Piece of Work or anything Staci Hart to the TBR is truly missing out!
