Once upon a time, there was a girl who had a crush on a boy. Eventually, they fell in love. They lived happily ever after.
Except they didn’t. Not even close.
I’m the girl, but that’s not my story.
Once upon a time, I fell for a boy, but we didn’t have a happily ever after. In fact, we crashed and burned. Which turned out to be for the best because it forced me to grow up and realize the only wedding bells in my future are the ones I orchestrate for clients.
For six years I’ve been perfectly content with meaningless, short-lived flings and running from anything that resembles a real relationship.
He’s my best friend’s brother, and he’s no longer the boy I fell for—he’s a man I can’t stand.
Oh, and he’s also my new neighbor.
Seemingly overnight, Jasmine Winters went from being my sister’s best friend to being the girl I couldn’t get enough of. But like most good things, it didn’t last.
Things fell apart so suddenly, I’m able to convince myself that summer never happened. At least, I was, until the only distance between us is a hallway instead of a time zone.
Six years ago, I let Jasmine slip through my fingers without an explanation because I was convinced we’d be better off apart. But now that we’re neighbors, our unspoken vow of apathy has unwittingly been shattered. Our exchanges consist of trading insults and icy stare downs. But in-between, I catch glimpses of the way she used to look at me, glimpses of the girl I fell for years ago.
Things are different now, though. This time… I won’t let her walk away without giving me answers.
When Light Leads to You is the second full-length novel of the Forget Me Knot series, but can be read as a standalone.
**Due to strong language and the sexy times between these two, this book is recommended to readers ages 18 and up.**

Wow. Yeah, that is definitely the first thing I can honestly say about this – just wow. For starters the cover really drew me in, I mean seriously those colors were just stunning plus the synopsis was a weakness. Yeah I admit it, I have a thing for second chances between siblings’ best friend kind of scenarios – I just always find them to be some of the most steamy, intensely entertaining reads in the romance world, and can I just admit now to you that When Lights Lead to You delivered, I mean comrades, it delivered on my expectations.
So why did this one strike me in all the right places? Well hands down Dean and Jasmine were absolute gems to get to know! Jasmine is definitely an interesting character. She is light, free spirit with a serious side. A lot of her personality really built due to her internal conflicts, more over she simply has several trust issues and slight self-esteem issues. I like this about her because she is relatable, her struggles are really easy as a reader to sympathize with. When she wasn’t making me laugh with her shenanigans, she was making my eyes tear up because the girl just needed a hug. She needed support.
And then we have the scrumptious Dean. The only man that Jas has ever really had the special tingles with, dare I say ‘love’ potential. But alas, after a few miscommunications all those years prior, he is the ass who broke her heart, proving to her that she was right… But Dean is definitely a keeper. Though from Jasmine’s perspective you might feel he is the villain of her story but really he is a closet sweetheart. He is grounded, level headed but also knows how to have fun. Definite panty-dropper.
Because of the situation that occurred between Dean and Jas six years earlier, they have reconnected on some terms where they are either ready to jump their bones or have a war match. They have this fiery, electrifying tension between them that just makes me gush. Their foreplay can be sized up simply between their sexual tension dripping from their eye stabbing or their constant need to bicker – HOT.
I mean who doesn’t like a good bicker banter tension to leak your loins?
Honestly though, their sexual chemistry aside they really had an amazing connection. One that was built on a history of Jas being Dean’s sisters best friend. Whether they cannot see eye to eye, they still have a mutual respect, a mutual friendship that cannot be matched. The more that developed between them it was becoming more and more adamant that there was just this passion between them, they honestly enjoyed each other.
Bottom line, I really enjoyed When Lights Lead to You. It was stunning, absolutely phenomenal read. It was just beautifully written and the flow of the dynamics, the romance was just amazing. Dean and Jasmine had such an amazingly delicious romance that took my heart in a choke hold, me swooning the entire way to the end. I cannot recommend this enough, just a cute, entertaining romance that was sweet, cute with the right amount of sexual tension that made me hot and bothered. I need a Dean in my life for sure! I will definitely be adding more Ellis to my TBR in the near future.
