Review: The Score | Off Campus Series by Elle Kennedy

THE SCOREHe knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

Man oh man, please stop gushing at the cover, I promise I have an actual review, though if we are being honest I LOVE this cover. Hell I loved this book. Next to Garrett from The Deal, it is Dean who stole what was left of this cold heart and made it swoon with a side of beaver drool. Seriously I don’t even know where to start…

I suppose we can start with Dean! What do I love about him? Well the fact that he was a man whore with the personality of a care free panty drop sex appeal also played a huge part on why I enjoyed his character. His personality was just fun. I also think he had the most growth out of all of the characters in the bro-mance of this series up to this point. He starts out somewhat as a running joke of the group, if it has a skirt he will get in it. The ladies love him and he is a rockstar in the rink, he feels untouchable. He really was the stereotypical jock, and I loved it. I know that sounds rather boring, but really it added depth to his character because there was substance under that persona, there is just more to Dean than you see. So again I say he had the best growth, it was phenomenal.

Then we have Allie, jeez I loved her. She is the best friend of Hannah, really with her own struggles after always caring too much what others think, being dependent on her now ex-boyfriend, I really loved it. Allie was just a believable and relatable female character. She was extremely smart and wore her heart on her shoulder.

Once Allie and Dean started their hook ups, it was interesting to see that they really played their growth off of one another. Dean being the man whore started to realize how he wanted to be more exclusive which was strange for him. Then you had Allie who needed to be told it was OK to let lose and breath which Dean actually influenced onto her. This is what I loved about their chemistry. At the beginning there was a lazy connection was respectful and playful that built into a more sexual tension high between the two. Through out the story you have both struggling with their feelings towards the other while dealing with their emotional baggage outside of their bubble which they start leaning on each other for help.

If I am being honest I loved their drama. It literally fed into their sexual connection. And lets not forget, their sexual connections were beyond delicious. I can actually say without a doubt that they had some of the steamiest moments. They were completely infatuated with one another, when one was jealous or there was teasing being involved, it literally intensified their encounters. Completely slide of your seat steam hot. Dean is drop dead fucking sexy, all I am going to say.

Tickle my pickle surprised comrades, I didn’t think after finishing The Deal anything in the series would top my love for the first, but I have to admit I loved The Score bascially as much as the first – SURPRISE! This one is nothing short of what I have come to expect from Elle Kennedy after starting this series. The lovable characters are just breathtaking and now that I am adding Dean and Allie to the mix, it is just perfection. One of the best college new adult romance I have at this point under my belt. It is just overall great laughs, super fun premise, and off the charts amazing chemistry.

I said it before and I will say it again – BUY THIS SERIES. Highly recommended and I think it is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance series of 2018.
