Obviously I read too much romance to be considered a sane adult, because this could be considered borderline porn addiction if you asked my husband. So what did I think about Beautiful Bastard? If you want the short answer in a nutshell:
Hot, sexy hunk of man meat named Bennett Ryan – power driven perfectionist executive.
Deliciously interesting intern named Chloe Mills.
Definitely a Daytime Soap in all the dirtiest kind of ways.
Banter Hate Foreplay.
Public Sex – Office? Sure. Dressing Room? Why not.
Obviously this is going to be bad in all the right kind of ways.
Lets face it though, you might be curious of the longer answers? So let’s open Bennett’s panty stash and get to sniffing on the details…
I will be completely honest, I did not read this book prior to Beautiful, which is book five in the series. Granted, I was told these are standalone, but after I read Beautiful and discovered there were previous books I knew I need to start from the beginning. So before I go into my rant of how much I loved this book, if you decide to pick up this series, regardless of being considered each a standalone, the characters from the previous book are in the following in some way shape or form. It doesn’t take away if you read out of order, but I personally recommend reading them in order – really made certain aspects of the character development flow overall in the long run.
So on to the real reason we are here; the discussion of the hot passionate monkey sex scenes and the panty ripping…
The main characters Bennett and Chloe were the highlight of it all, obviously. That is the point of a romance, erh? The novel is absolutely hilarious. The snide and rude banter that is between Bennett and Chloe just seeps out with sexual frustration between that from the start of the book, as a reader you just know there is only a hardcore escalation from this point that is going to come crashing down – it will be flipping amazing. Because of Bennett’s extremely rude and almost disrespectful exterior towards Chloe at the jump, there is a sense of complete asshole, he literally is borderline shit response to how he treats Chloe, but as the story continues driving on, you get a sense that he changes – I grew to really like his elitist asshole persona. Scary to admit, it aided in his sex appeal. What is the saying? Some woman are just attracted to the assholes – hell I married one. The rude banter started becoming more like a basis of foreplay for the couple, which, who doesn’t enjoy that after argumentative type sex? Eventually Bennett becomes more attached, and that so called ‘bastard asshole’ persona is replaced by a man who genuinely wants Chloe in more than just a sexual atmosphere.
Chloe on the other hand – I loved her from the beginning without having to build up to her personality. Her inner monologues are hilarious, and extremely relatable. Her situation is actually very believable as well, being a woman in that situation in the corporate world, she shares similar qualities to Bennett on both a personal and professional level, which scares her, but more so that if their affair was discovered her professional reputation would be ruined. Not wanting to be known as the woman who slept to the top, she completely overthinks everything, while trying to deflate her growing feelings for Bennett.
Ultimately, I really did enjoy this Beautiful Bastard. It was completely delicious love story that gave all the right feels with the fuzzies in my stomach, waiting for that happy ending I needed. I highly recommend Beautiful Bastard, hell the entire series, because it is worth giving it a go – I know that it started as a Twilight fanfiction, but honestly, do not let that completely conform your opinion on either spectrum, it does not relate – as a matter of fact after I found out, I couldn’t really tell the similarities, which is good, because I am not a Twilight fan. So with that, I just say enjoy the snarky banter, the sexy passionate connection between Bennett and Chloe because the crazy office romance is absolute perfection.

Don’t forget about the novella to Beautiful Bastard! Because holy shit, it just adds to the blow of how much I love this series.
Picking up where Beautiful Bastard left off and the soap opera drama continues; hell it grows.
I still stand by the fact that I absolutely enjoy Bennett and Chloe’s chemistry. I personally cannot get enough of them. By this point, Bennett and Chloe are complete work-holics, both dedicated to their careers, this really capitalizes on how equal they are in their relationship.
Bennett really evolved from Bastard to Bitch, he is completely infatuated by Chloe, he is more open about his feelings and desires from their relationship whereas Chloe is still new to expressing her feelings, she isn’t sure where her emotions stand in the mix. Not that she isn’t in love with Bennett, but because she is new to love, she isn’t completely aware of how to move forward, she doesn’t know how to put into words with what she is feeling.
Their relationship is definitely struggling, but in a good way – they are in a good place together and their flame is still strong, just working through kinks. I think that is what makes me enjoy the story so much between Bennett and Chloe the most; their connection is apparent from the beginning, the steam between them is completely overpowering; These two are beyond just swoon-worthy, the way they are enamored by one another is just perfect. The novella was definitely a great add-in, I personally enjoyed it! Just a quick read that is fun and enjoyable as much as the actual novel; there is enough drama, laughs, steamy scenes jammed packed in such small amount, it is completely worth the read. Makes me wish I had more of Bennett and Chloe.
